OUR DESCRIPTIONS OF COUPLES SANS SOUCI'S RESORT ROOM CATEGORIES
One Bedroom Oceanview (8 suites):
Large bedrooms with either king bed or 2 twin beds, sitting area on balcony

One Bedroom Suite Oceanview (35 rooms):
All rooms have large bedrooms with separate living rooms, king beds or 2 twin beds and most have balconies as per guide.

One Bedroom Suite with Jacuzzi Tub Oceanview (28 suites):
All have separate sitting area detached from the bedroom, with jacuzzi tubs in the bathroom. Most have king-size bed, while few have twin beds. Most suites in this category have a balcony or patio.

Penthouse Suite Oceanview (8 suites):
Separate living room and bedrooms with king or 2 twin beds. Large balconies. Five of the eight suites have a Jacuzzi.

Beachfront Suites (72 suites):
All have separate sitting area detached from the bedroom, with a jacuzzi and shower separate in the bathroom. Most have king-sized bed, while few have twin beds. Most suites in this category have a balcony or patio.

The room categories listed above are housed in a number of room blocks.

Renovated rooms in the A & B blocks are looking fresh and have a luxurious style.

Blocks A & B are the newest blocks and closest to the ocean. They have direct ocean view. The rooms include a bedroom and living room seperated by sliding doors. There are vitually no stairs to climb on A & B to get to pool/bars/ restaurants/ beach. Great choice for anyone who wants to avoid stairs. Every room has a jacuzzi tub. These blocks have the beachfront 1 bedroom jacuzzi suite category.

Block C is located close to the Balloon Bar at the top of the resort.

Block D has some breathtaking views and has the room that is actually featured on the Sans Souci printed brochures. Rooms in this block may have a partial ocean view with an obstructed view from the lush foliage. The rooms here are very large, the decor is a bit dated but rooms are spotless. Some rooms we saw have large bedroom area, with french doors to large sitting area and another set of french doors to balcony. Same size balcony as A & B blocks. Some D rooms do NOT have a balcony. Every room in D has a jacuzzi tub.

Block E are the Verranda suites. This block faces the ocean but again is surrounded by lush tropical foliage providing a partial ocean view. The balconies and patios are HUGE and again room decor can use a face lift. It had 2 padded lounge chairs in addition to the standard table and chairs all the balconies have.

OCHO RIOS, JAMAICA (January 5, 2005) – Sans Souci Resort & Spa, the oceanfront, all-suites, All-Inclusive resort, here, has been named again to Conde Nast Traveler Magazine’s 2005 Gold List of “best places to stay” as revealed in the publication’s January issue.

Gold List resorts were selected by more than 20,000 subscribers of the popular international magazine and rated on their excellence in rooms, service, food, location and activities. Sans Souci Resort & Spa earned the highest rating among Jamaica’s resorts and hotels for its cuisine and was also among the very best in service, rooms and activities.

Pierre Battaglia, the resort’s general manager, said “we are once again extremely gratified by this honor. Our staff sets high standards for itself, and therefore I am especially pleased to learn of such high ratings given to the level of attention we provide to our guests in such important areas as cuisine and service.

Sans Souci received an overall rating of 85.1, second to Couples Swept Away with an 85.3. Grand Lido Negril at 83.2, Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall at 81.9, and Royal Plantation, Ocho Rios at 77.1

Sans Souci has received several hospitality industry honors in the past few months including Conde Nast’s ratings as “Top 10 in the Caribbean”, a 4-Diamond designation, a Gold Apple from Apple Vacations by Spa Finder Magazine as having one of the best resort spas in The Caribbean/Atlantic Region.
