HEY TOM. WHAT AN "AWESOME TRIP". WE HAD A "PERFECT VACATION". WE WILL DEFINITLEY TRAVEL WITH YOU AGAIN NEXT YEAR. TANYA DENNY JEFF AND I USUSALLY GO "SOMEWHERE" TROPICAL EVERY YEAR. AND WE HAVE BEEN SOOO VERY HAPPY WITH YOUR SERVICES AND THE TRIP TO JAMAICA. I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING BAD...ONLY GREAT TIME WITH GREAT FRIENDS. AND WE FINALLY FOUND A TRAVEL SERVICE WE ARE HAPPY TO WORK WITH AND WE WILL BE CALLING ON YOU AGAIN LATE FALL FOR THE 2009 TRIP. THE RIO RESORT WAS A PERFECT 10 FROM THE BEACHES TO THE STAFF. WE COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR BETTER SERVICES...REALLY A PERFECT VACATION. THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!! TILL WE TALK AGAIN....BE SAFE AND THANKS FOR SENDING US ON THE PERFECT VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Oh Hi Tom.!! First of all, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! It was wonderful... The weather was perfect, the hotel was very nice. Food was much better then a few all-inclusives we have been too. Entertainment- we never made it too much of that but heard from people it was just o.k. Room was very nice. There was no coffee pot in the room, but I guess we just needed to call for room service and they would of brought us some coffe in the morning. We spent most of our days laying on the beach and relaxing. I would recommend people to ask for rooms in building 2 it gets to be a long walk to the other 3. The beach was much nicer then some of the reviews I read about. It did have a sewer smell one day. My husband and I snorkled right out from the beach to the roped off area and we were so excited. We saw a lot of star fish and a lot of colored fish and the best of all was an octopus! That was great.... We had a cab driver from the resort take us to town one day to shop. He was very nice and taught us a lot about Jamaica. That did cost us $60.00 for the 4 of us. We also gave him a tip on that. It was for about 4 hours though. He took us to Rick's cafe also. That was fun to see.
Everything with Air Jamaica was fantastic... They really know how to make you feel appreciated on their flights. We had a full breakfast going and a full dinner coming home and they were both very good.
The people in Jamaica were all very nice to us at the resort. I feel bad for them, they work hard for very little money. We were about the only ones tipping....
We would love to go back again someday we felt it was a great resort for the money.
Next year is my 50th and there are about 10 of us that want to go somewhere tropical. I think we know the Riu"s are great to stay in. (Oh we did visit the Riu Tropical Bay and it is REALLY run down. I am sooo glad we didn't stay there) We were thinking maybe the Cabo San Lucas Riu or any other suggestions you might have. When do we need to start planning for a trip in Late January or Early Feburary. I have a condition that the water has to be warm so do we need to wait until March or April to make sure the water is warmer in Mexico?
You did a great job for us and we WILL defenitly bok with you again. I will share your name with anyone that asked. Thank you again
Oh before I forget. Leaving Chicago last night on Hwy 88 was terrible. There is road construction at night and it took us 1hour to get 6 miles at 10:30 last night. That was the worst part of the whole trip. You might want to tell people to take a different route.

Rebecca, CLUB RIU Negril, was awesome again for the 2nd year in a row. This was our 1st anniversary this time, and since we did so much the 1st time we went to Jamaica, this time we stayed near the resort more and did what they had to offer, and we were completely satisfied. The snorkeling was great, as well as lounging poolside at the swim-up bar. There was lots going on at any given time, and the staff was great, something about going back to a place, and a few people recognize us. Club RIU Negril is awesome, and I'm glad we made it back there in under a year, I think we are called Jamericans now...

My wife, 13-year-old daughter and I had a great vacation at the Riu Club Hotel in Negril. I was a little concerned heading down with no first-hand knowledge of the resort, but it surpassed my expectations. The resort was beautiful, clean, safe, friendly, with just the right amount of activities if one wanted to participate. Room was very nice and not crowded with three.
I scuba dove 3 times, and the outfit was professional with nice, relaxed dives. We also used the same taxi driver three times, twice for local trips and once for an all-day excursion, and it was a highlight. A perfect gentleman, who brought along his wife for the day trip to YS Falls and a river excursion, and we all enjoyed each other's company and had a great day.
At the resort, the quality and variety of food was also beyond what I would have thought an all-inclusive buffet would serve, and the two nights we ate at the optional a la carte sit-down were a nice change of pace, although the food was not much different in quality from the buffet, but none the less a nice dinner.
Without giving you a travelouge, I would say we had a great trip which I would recommend to anyone. I did walk through/past several other resorts on the beach, and I can say I was still most impressed with the RiuClub. Also, a nice mix of people - young, older, families, etc.
The transfer was a little rough around the edges, but no real issue. Had a great time, and would love to go back.

Thanks for the follow-up. We had a good time on our vacation. Your service and follow through were great. I am not sure however that I would recommend the resort to others. Although it was big and clean and had good facilities. The staff was not very accommodating and the service was lacking. It was also very difficult to take advantage of what they had to offer from ordering dinner to getting a towel for the pool. We spoke to others that were there and they felt the same way. Visually it was a four star. But the quality and the service were a 1 or 2 star.

Hey thank you, Rebecca. "Oh my GOD" We had the best time at the RIU Negril. Our honeymoon was perfect and the services that you offered and helped me with went off without a single problem. We are for sure going to use Discount All Inclusive for our next trip. Thank you so much for making our special time even more special..... You guys are the best!

Regarding RIU Negril....I would be delighted to write a review to be included on the DAI website!! A glorious week....I know you have no control over weather, but absolutely beautiful!! One rainshower on afternoon, the rest of the week sunny, high 80's!!
Positive comments.....service, happy employees!! Treated you like family!! From bar staff to waiters/waitress, from the front desk to the bellman, from the taxi stand to the gift shop!! Impressive!! Room was very adequate and well kept....maid service daily, fill fridge with beverage every two days!! Restaurants: have to make reservations daily by 10am for each evenings sitting (2 seatings to choose from...7pm or 9pm)....all three restaurants were of quality: Luigi (Brazilian), Shadows (Steakhouse), Sir Andrew (Most exclusive...variety on menu)....we very much enjoyed all three!! The pools were wonderful and the beach was very well kept, clean and convenient!! Be sure to enjoy the "jerk" station on the beach from noon-2pm....we loved the chicken!!
Improvements possible (though minimal).....be sure and ask the maid for plenty of towels, wash clothes...otherwise, you'll get the minimum!! Bar drinks and in room beverages, while plentiful, were not always "premium".....many local brands (beer, wine and liquor).....minimal "premium" name brand liquors. It's not hard though to have plenty to drink, and one will quickly find out the best drinks.....desired a BUD by weeks end which was nowhere in sight at RIU Negril!!! Food in the buffets was plentiful.....best term here would be "quantity vs. quality".....again, one will find plenty to eat...typical buffet fair, but the evening reservation restaurants are by far the best option vs. the Green Island (Buffet)....though breakfast at Green Island is very good!! Very hard to get change when needed....would have to travel between the casino and the front desk to get 5's or 1's.....absolutely don't bring american coins....leave in your suitcase!! Advice....while I thought I took an adequate quantity of small bills, came to realize quickly needed more (casino "eats" it up, if you know what I mean!!)....
By no means do the "improvements possible" section above mean we had a bad time!! To the contrary....one of the best, most relaxing, enjoyable vacations I've ever had!! An amazing value for the money!! Look forward to a return visit in the future!! Amazed we don't hear more about RIU....didn't know about them until I began researching for this vacation.....traveled to downtown Negril and passed both RIU properties on the way....RIU Negril presented best from the roadside, and is "eyepopping" when walking into the first time (front desk/lobby area)!! Seems to be a quality operation with happy employees!! |

The resort was wonderful. I've never met nicer people in my life. The room
was a little small but we didn't spend much time in it anyway. The food was
great. We had a great time and will definitely be using you and RIU for our
next trip. Thanks for all your help.
